Accessibility at Choply
Our commitment
Choply is committed to making our recipe app and website usable for as many people as possible. We aim to follow accessibility best practices and continually improve.
What we do
- Semantic structure: Headings, landmarks, and labels to support screen readers and navigation
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed with sufficient contrast where possible
- Touch targets: Buttons and interactive elements are sized for comfortable use
- Alternative text: Images (including recipe covers) include alt text where appropriate
- Focus management: Keyboard and assistive tech users can navigate the interface
- Dynamic type: In the app, we support system text size preferences where practical
App features
In the Choply mobile app:
- Step-by-step cooking mode with clear text and large controls
- Voice-based recipe creation for hands-free input
- Support for system accessibility settings (e.g., larger text, VoiceOver/TalkBack)
- Haptic feedback on key actions
Known limitations
We know we have room to improve. Some recipe images may be user-generated without alt text. Video content may not always include captions. We’re working to address these gaps over time.
Feedback
If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions, we want to hear from you. Email us at accessibility@choply.app. We’ll do our best to respond and prioritize fixes where we can.
Standards
We aim to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 where applicable. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we’ll continue to iterate as we learn.
